Connor McCanlus

Connor McCanlus is a Pittsburgh native and proud member of Actors' Equity Association and the Screen Actors Guild. McCanlus studied theatre at Clarion University and received his comedy training at Steel City Improv Theater. He was an original member of Well Known Strangers and spent many years under the tutelage of the late Woody Drennan. McCanlus has taught workshops and masterclasses at Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Public Theater, CLO Academy, Pittsburgh Musical Theater, Suspension Theatrical Arts, Arcade Comedy Theater, Steel City Improv Theater, Carlynton High School, Winchester Thurston School, and North Hills High School, as well as Philly Improv Theater in Philadelphia and Coalition Theater in Virginia. In 2025, McCanlus was invited to teach for the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival. McCanlus has coached numerous local comedy teams, including Point Park University's improv club from 2014-2016, as well as Arcade House Teams Snake and Horse Divorce.
