Andrew Lotz

Andrew Lotz, Ph.D. has been a faculty member at the University of Pittsburgh since 2010, with a large focus of his teaching being on the intersection of Politics and Popular Culture, as well as his speciality on Propaganda. That focus includes the subset of political satire and political comedy, which he has lectured on and did a deep dive on as part of the 2026 Provost's Academy at Pitt. Andrew has won numerous teaching awards, including the Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Award 2024 (best professor at Pitt), Pitt News' "Best Undergraduate Professor" 2023, the Tina and David Bellet Teaching Award 2016 (best professor in the School of Arts and Sciences), and the College of General Studies "Student's Choice Award" 2015. He's pleased to bring his collegiate teaching expertise and focus on political comedy and satire as political tools to the Arcade Comedy Theater community.
